EXECUTIVE COACHING
Managers and leaders are individuals who are required to manage a variety and number of issues concurrently. Even as they are dealing with multiple issues, they are also expected to specialize in creating an environment of trust, demonstrating high-level communication skills, managing relationships, tracking/improving their own and others’ performance and development, making accurate and timely decisions, ensuring effective internal communication, training employees, supporting development, empathizing, having a vision, and so on.
Through coaching, managers find it easier to balance their individual needs and the goals of the organization.
Coaching, in a neutral and safe environment, supports managers in discussing their concerns, the difficulties they face, and the decisions that they can or will make comfortably. As well, coaching allows managers to develop, perceive alternatives, put forward their own strengths, and focus on the goal to take a better path.
Managers:
When, in addition to their own duties, they receive other, new responsibilities,
When they enter a new position or field of work,
When they are promoted and need to enhance their leadership skills,
When they take over responsibility for a wider group,
When they are required to fill a sudden gap in the organization,
When they are being prepared for a leadership position,
When they need improvement in leadership skills,
When they experience periodic performance problems,
When they need to create a new team or line of work,
When they have obvious problems with their current tasks,
they may receive support from a coach, or they may just want to be coached on their agenda.
How does the Executive Coaching process work?
- The working topics, needs and goals of the manager are determined in cooperation with the institution and the manager
- The coach makes use of the performance measurement systems of the institution where necessary
- Strengths and directions that require developing, and opportunities and goals are identified
- Roadmaps and work plans required to achieve the goal are also prepared by senior management, the manager and the coach together
- The coach and the manager implement and follow this process with regular coaching interviews
During the Executive Coaching process, the coach can adapt to the existing analysis and personnel management systems of the institution, as well as benefit from the self-developed data collection and evaluation tools if they are missing in the institution.
Coaching interviews take place with regular meetings once a week. The average session duration is one hour. The working time is determined by reaching a consensus by the coach, institution and manager according to the size of the target, its requirements and needs. The average recommended duration is 12 sessions. During the process, the consultant can reach out to the coach by e-mail or phone and obtain continuous support when needed.
